UTAS increase fees by 25%
UTAS increase HECS fees by 25%
It's ironic really, given the vast amounts of money spent on advertising recently, billboards, buses, TV ads, radio ads etc.
Some Promotion Company director is driving around in a new Mercedes now but the students have to pay 25% more!

I can't belive they increased fees that much! It's going to cost me an extra $2000 over my degree.

I've seen the ads and the money they spend and they put fees up 25%!
It's turned my 4 yr honours (hopefully) degree into as 5yr degree...
How about a bit less spending on things students don't really need, the union used to do all that stuff and cheaper too

That's not quite right, money spent on marketing pays for it's self. Besides, I want to work for that company! so I don't mind a little bit more if it means a good job.

Hi guys, just stumbled on this site when I was randomly browsing. I'm Robert Meredith, the State President of the TUU, and I just wanted to let you know that I think it's great you've set this page up, and for the more 'serious' issues discussed here (there's not much I can do about the paranormal stuff), i'm more than happy if you want to contact me to talk about it, and work with you and the University to come up with sound proposals for resolution.
We've got a fairly good relationship with the Senior Management Team and senior UTAS administration and executive, and we represent students at all levels of University governance, so feel free to drop me an email with any problems.

P.S. It'd be great if someone could put this on the main page.

I hope things have changed because when I needed help the then President of the Post-Grad Assoc. was of no help to me. Sure the TUU isn't the same as the Post-Grad Assoc. but they're similar.
He helped himself for sure. By sycophantically agreeing with everything the UTAS Office of Research said he was able to be seen as very much "one of the team". That was the UTAS administration team though, not the student team.
I won't state his name here, but when I heard it I knew he wouldn't help me. He was there for his own personal benefit not mine. You-Know Who-I-mean.
